Where production second-operation
work is required, a double tool cross slide is recommended.
The front tool position
is fitted with a lever-operated rack and pinion feed. An
adjustable stop is provided to limit the travel of the
front slide in both directions. This slide can also be
swiveled
50º in either direction and be securely locked in any
angular position. For transverse operation, the cross slide
is lever operated through a rack and pinion. The lever, while
illustrated on the left side of the unit, may easily be switched
to the right side.
An extremely rigid rear tool block
provides excellent support for any inverted tool and
is especially useful in cutoff
and forming
operations. Both the front and rear tool holders use
3/16" square
tool bits. The base of the slide is made with an adjustable
guide and
will fit any Levin lathe.
